This is a gallery of my attempt to take a photo a day in 2009. Sometimes my photos relfect just ordinary events of the day, sometimes they are more creative. I started this project so that my camera could come out of it's bag on a regular basis. I am currently using a Nikon D90 and a Canon G10 for all the images posted here. Comments and critiques are always welcomed, or if you don't want to leave a comment you can simply select a photo rank of Yeah or Neah by placing your mouse over the image and clicking on the red thumbs down or green thumbs up.

Dianne M. Ward > July 15, 2009 Gibbs Lighthouse, Bermuda I was working on my Bermuda photos last night, and came across this shot. At the time I took it, I thought they were all blurry, It was a very foggy night and I didn't have a tripod and was trying to rest the camera on the balcony rail. I was pleasantly surprised to find this amongst all my photos. Proof of why you should never delete a photo based on what you see on the LCD. Thanks for all the comments on my postal squirrel photo yesterday, never expected it to be that popular, definitely not be in the number one spot!
Dianne M. Ward > July 14, 2009 “I get mail; therefore I am.” ~ Scott Adams As I left my office last night, I saw this squirrel hanging out in the mailbox. We have an outdoor balcony that overlooks wetlands. The previous tenants of the space put a mailbox out on the deck and stored binoculars in it for bird watchers. No clue why the door is open, but the squirrel liked it. I shot this with my G10 through glass, not the greatest quality but it was just too cute! Have a great day!
Dianne M. Ward > July 13, 2009 Wonderful day yesterday at my sister-in-laws house for a bbq. This is my son's girlfriend Kala. I was drawn to this portrait by the reflection in her sunglasses. The highlights are a bit blown out should have paid more attention to the histogram and shot a few more frames. Back to work today after a wonderful vacation, have a great day everyone!
Dianne M. Ward > July 12, 2009 Lazy Days Why is it you need a vacation to recover from your vacation? lol! My poor dog even slept the better part of the day away yesterday. He doesn't sleep much when we are away, the kids say he spends a great deal of time looking out the window waiting for us to get home.

Dianne M. Ward > July 10, 2009 Bye Bye Bermuda We have had a wonderful vacation here on the beautiful island of Bermuda. On our last full day the sun was shining, the air was warm, perfect beach day. I had my G10 and the underwater housing so that I could get some shots while in the water. Let me tell you that is easier said than done. There were some pretty big swells coming in through the rocks and it was really hard to steady yourself, add to that the annoying water droplets on the front that ruined many a shot. I captured this shot as I was getting out of the water. I applied a watercolor effect to make this more artsy being that I don't know any of the people, it was just a wonderful beach scene to remember Bermuda by. We fly home today, back to reality!

We went down to St. George yesterday, outside one of the outdoor restaurants were a few tables with umbrellas that were closed because of the winds. This is a close up of the different colors of the umbrella. Have a great day everyone!
Dianne M. Ward > July 7, 2009 Hamilton, Bermuda Typical Bermuda scene, I wish I could be there when the lighting was better, this was taken at noon time. I love the color of the chairs and this picture does not do justice to the beautiful blue water.
Dianne M. Ward > Ju.ly 6, 2009 Bermuda My husband and I are vacationing in beautiful Bermuda! I took this shot from the plane as we arrived on the island. It wasn't the greatest quality shot so I took the liberty of applying a watercolor effect to make it more like painting than a photo. Have a great day!
Dianne M. Ward > July 5, 2009 "Amber Waves" I hope that everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Just an abstract shot today of a section of candle that sits on my coffee table. The sun coming through the blinds really illuminated the color and design of the candle. Have a great day!

Dianne M. Ward > July 2, 2009 Roborovski hamster My daughter has always been an animal lover, over the years we have had two cats, one dog, birds, hamsters, gecko's, fish, and a guinea pig. When your kids go off to college you think that the days of having all kinds of critters in the house are in the past. Guess not!!! My daughter decided that she needs a pet for her dorm. I tried to convince her to wait until she returns to school in the fall, but that was lost cause. While I was away in Maine last weekend, I got a call that we had two additional family members. I must say that they are awfully cute and I have spent a great deal of time watching them with her as they run around their new little home. On the downside, the pet store convinced her that they should live in pairs, however, they have been fighting off and on and my daughter is concerned. So one may be returning to the pet store today. In the meantime I had to capture a photo of the little guy before he is gone. I wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!
Dianne M. Ward > July 2, 2009 We went out to dinner last night at the country club in town. As we waited for our check I noticed this image through a window. The statue in front is of a golfer who greets you as you enter the club. I took this shot through the window, so he is facing the ramp and pro shop. Thank you all very much for the comments on my pic yesterday. I have been participating in the dailies for 6 months now, and have learned a great deal from this group.
